When Will I Need Continuing Education Credits to Renew a MA CSL?
In July of 2011 the Massachusetts Department of Public Safety announced that it is now requiring continuing education credits (CEUs) for renewal of all licensed construction supervisors in Massachusetts.
There has been some confusion and possible misinformation regarding the timing and requirements of the CEU requirement for Mass CSL renewal.
Before you sign up for training make sure you are certain of your renewal date. However, note that taking any approved CSL courses now, regardless of when you need to renew your CSL, will count toward the first time you need to provide CSL continuing education credits.
Timing will be important
Remember, you must renew your MA CSL before it expires. Be sure to take your MA CSL Continuing Education Classes and get your course completion certificates well in advance of your renewal date.
Clarification of renewal dates and continuing education requirements for CSL holders
Check your Massachusetts CSL License for your expiration date so you can determine when you need your CSL continuing education credits to renew your MA Construction Supervisors license.
- If your next MA CSL license renewal is between now and June 30, 2013, you will NOT need to provide continuing education hours when you renew next.
- All CSL licensees who are required to renew a Mass CSL license, on or after July 1, 2011, will be required to fully comply with the new CSL continuing education requirements.
