Coming up in April in Townsend MA
On April 7, 2022 at 11AM I’ll be leading an exploratory meeting at the Townsend, MA Senior Center to see how much interest there might be in attending beginner classes about building Cigar Box Guitars and or offering informal beginner get-togethers for those who want to learn to play a Cigar Box Guitar and “slow jam” together.
You don’t need to be a Townsend resident to participate. Simply give the Senior Center a call at (978) 597-1710 to learn more and to register.
Building a Cigar Box Guitar for Beginners
This group would be intended for folks whether you are already building them and would like to learn more, or would like to see what it’s all about and just give it a try. You can even build them yourself with simple woodworking hand tools. I’ll be bringing some of the instruments I have built so you can check them out, ask questions and help me design a class to add to the Townsend Senior Center offerings.
Learning to Play a Cigar Box Guitar
Find out why three string Cigar Box Guitars can be much easier to learn to play than a tradition six string guitar. For those interested in playing a Cigar box Guitar, whether your already a player or looking to learn, come on down so we can see what we can do together to make music, have some fun and learn from each other.
How to sign up

Let’s see how much interest there might be to form a group to share about building them and/or to get together to learn to play and “Slow Jam” together. We don’t have to smoke them, we can just play with the boxes!
