Cigar Box Guitar Mayhem at Townsend Senior Center Christmas Party

Back in March I wrote about the Cigar Box Guitar Building and playing  classes I was planning to teach at the Townsend, MA Senior Center.  In the building class we built 11 new cigar box guitars.  Everyone who participated put in their time and effort to make it happen.

Here's a picture of those who built guitars:

After building the guitars a good number of the class then participated in the cigar box guitar learn to play class.  Several of the attendees had never played an instrument before. We were also joined by one new member who brought along her own cigar box guitar.

Well the group did so well learning to play their new instruments the senior center asked us to play at the Annual Christmas Party.  We committed and held several practice sessions ahead of the party to get ready.  I am real proud of these folks.  They worked hard, obviously practiced together as well as on their own, and sounded awesome at the party.

We were dubbed "Cigar Box Guitar Mayhem" so that seems to now be the adopted name of our band!

We all even dressed up appropriate for the holiday occasion!

Below are short videos of each of the songs we performed at the Townsend Senior Center 2022 Christmas Party.  The last song is a remake of an old tune you may find familiar.  I hope Arlo doesn't mind!

I hope you enjoy!  Please feel free to leave a comment below.
